Welcome to the NCERT Solutions for Class 11th Chemistry - Chapter Equilibrium. This page offers a step-by-step solution to the specific question from Exercise 1, Question 41: the concentration of hydrogen ion in a sample of s....
Question 41

The concentration of hydrogen ion in a sample of soft drink is 3.8 × 10–3 M. what is its pH?

Answer

Given that:

[H+]  =  3.8 × 10–3

∴ pH value of soft drink

= -log [H+

=  -log [3.8 × 10–3

= -log [3.8]  +  3

= -0.58 + 3

=  2.42
