Biotechnology refers to the use of biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology and genetically engineered sciences to achieve the products, cultured cells or tissues and their parts etc. and genetic engineering is manipulation and insertion of gene and genetic material by man which forms the recombinant DNA molecules.
Both winemaker and molecular biologist are considered as biotechnologists. Alcoholic fermentation is done by yeast and various bacteria; the waste products are ethanol and carbon dioxide. Wine is made by grapes and other fruits with fermenting organism Saccharomyces ellipsoideus and a molecular biologist who have developed recombinant vaccine by using genetic engineering by producing antibiotics against antigens which inhibits the growth of other microbes. As a result, in biotechnology refers to the use living organisms to produce products.
