. With detailed answers and explanations for each chapter, students can strengthen their understanding and prepare confidently for exams. Ideal for CBSE and other board students, this resource will simplify your study experience. What is the concentration of sugar (C12H22O11) in mol L–1 if its 20 g are dissolved in enough water to make a final volume up to 2 L?
Mass of sugar= 20g
Molecular mass of sugar=12x12 +1x22 +16x11=342 g
Mass of water= 2 liter
Molarity (M) = number of moles of solute/volume of solution in liters
= 20/(342x2) =0.02924 mol/liter
Therefore Molar concentration of sugar = 0.03 mol L–1
