Sophie’s family is of 4 members. She lives with her father and two brothers Geoff and Derek. And she belongs from a middle class family. Her father work as labour and his brother Geoff is an apprentice mechanic. And her family wants her to work after school. She dreams lot of work which is out of her family background which Jansie make her realized and told later they would have to work in biscuit factory. This is the condition of her family.

Sophie is a very sophisticated girl who lives in her own dream and imaginations. She used to make fake stories on which no one believes so to get the attentions from others she made a another wild stories of meeting with Danny Casey. She got so much ignorance so she started living in her own world of fantasy. When Danny didn’t arrive on second date she disappoints. She was not willing to accept the reality. Therefore her dreams and disappointments are figments of her imagination.

Sophie and Jansie are the two girls who were most likely to work in the biscuit factory after the school.

Sophie dreamt to open a boutique or to become an actress or a fashion designer. She planned that she would work on the position of a manager and would save money to open her own boutique.

But Jansie is a practical girl who knew her reality and background of her middle class family so she knows that bigger dreams need bigger investments which they can’t afford that’s why she discouraged Sophie for such dreams.
