Nabanna Scholarship: Financial Support for West Bengal Students

This scholarship is given under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to trainees who are merit listed and want to pursue their higher education. With the help of this scholarship, the Government of West Bengal is taking the initiative to improve the education of students who are ready to take their higher education to a level where their dreams can be fulfilled. Only students who have applied for post-graduation should have 12th pass and middle or 10th pass for students of upper secondary classes. College or university students can also apply in this scheme for financial assistance.

Eligibility Criteria for Nabanna Scholarship

The Nabanna Scholarship Eligibility criteria are given below, students should check the eligibility details before applying for the scholarship

  1. The candidate must be a resident of West Bengal and possess a domicile.

  2. Board Scholars can study at any institution in the state after passing the State Board / Council of Secondary Education or State-aided University in West Bengal.

  3. Candidates should get 65% marks in the Class 12 examination for Class 12.

  4. Candidates should get at least 60% marks in the 12th class for the UG level.

  5. For the PG level, the candidate should get 55% marks in graduation.

  6. At the time of application, the candidate should not get any Central / State Scholarship or stipend in the same type of study in the last year.

  7. Annual Income of the family must be less than Rs. 60,000/-.

The Nabanna scholarship application process is an offline process. Candidates need to follow the following steps to apply for the same:

  • A new page will appear on the screen, scroll to “Educational Assistance”.

  • Download the Nabanna Scholarship 2021 form.

  • The form is available in Pdf format online.

  • Enter the details carefully in the form according to the instructions provided.

Document Required for Nabanna Scholarship

The required documents for Nabanna Scholarship are:

  1. Photocopies of Rank Card and Selection Committee Assignment Letter (for JEE or equivalent examination only)

  2. Monthly Family Income Certificate from MDM / SDO / BDO / Group-A Govt. In the case of Municipal Corporation / Deputy Commissioner, Joint BDO. / Not less than the rank of Executive Officer.

  3. Copy of the reference from the MP / MLA to the Hon’ble Chief Minister declaring the monthly family income of the student.

  4. Education Receipt of year/semester details along with self-declaration under his signature regarding the current course of study and receipt of any scholarship assistance/assistance will be calculated with the seal of the head of the current institution.

  5. A bank account statement with a copy of the bank passbook such as Pass IFSC Code, Branch Code, Branch Name, Account Number, Bank Name.

  6. Photocopies of all the Mark sheets.

  7. Photocopy of fees booklet.

Renewal Process for Nabanna Scholarship

The whole process followed for the submission of fresh application shall be followed for the renewal process as well.
