It is held in all the nations, and every country sends almost the five best students in the international examination. First, students must clear the essential examinations such as zonal, state, national, and international. Later, students are qualified to give exams on the international stage. This examination is an excellent platform for students who want to determine and empower their ability in the field of biology. The students of classes 11th and 12th can examine IBO.
The top 4 students in nationals are then able to give examinations in internationals.
It is one of the most prestigious biology examinations held all over the country once a year.
Students can register for the national examination, and after qualifying, they can quickly appear in the international test.
Except for the membership of the IBO associated, there are no such criteria regarding the examination, such as age, minimum marks, etc.
The students who wish to give the exam can fill out their registration forms from the official website of IBO.
The students must have qualified for the zonal and national level of examination before registering for the international exam. In addition, the participants must be members of the official IBO association.
The students participated in the national examination before appearing in the internationals.
Students can register their nation and all the basic and essential details to get registered for the examination.2024
The International Biology Olympiad (IBO) is conducted in the month of july every year.
The IBO examination is usually held during July, and the result is declared 4-6 weeks after the completion of the examination.
Students can visit the official website to know the results, or it is also declared offline.
The students get all the required details, such as name, rank, marks, division, etc., through the result.
The officials calculate the result of both the theoretical and practical sections separately to know about the toppers.
IBO (International biology olympiad) is one of the most famous and competitive exams. The students are provided the questions which are pretty complicated and logical. Therefore, the students preparing for the exam should understand the syllabus briefly to reduce the chance of blunders. The IBO examination is held in two parts- theoretical and practical.

The IBO question paper is considered one of the most rigorous examinations.
The question paper comprises both theoretical and practical content. Each section covers 50% of weightage.
The theoretical section consists of cell biology, molecular biology, plant anatomy and physiology, animal anatomy and physiology, genetics and evolution, ecology, and biosystematics.
The practical section consists of the topics- of science process skills, physical skills, biological methods, physical and chemical methods, microbiological methods, and statistical methods. The participants are ranked according to their scores, and the best students are served with scholarships, awards, certificates, etc.
The IBO competition consists of practical and theoretical tasks. The host country provides the raw scores of students to the international Jury. After approving of the student’s raw scores by our Country Coordinators, the host country calculates the final ranking based on the T-scores for practical and theoretical tasks (50% + 50%). The final ranking determines the number of gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as certificates of merit (according to the IBO Operational Guidelines. Below, we provide final results and reports of the past IBOs.
