Name a human disease, its causal organism, symptoms (any three) and vector, spread by intake of water and food contaminated by human faecal matter.
Answer
Human disease name is amoebiasis. Entamoeba histolytica is a protozoan parasite in the large intestine of human which cause amoebiasis.
Symptoms of the disease include constipation, abdominal pain and cramps, stool with excess mucous and blood clots.
Vectors is houseflies. it act as mechanical carrier and serve to transmit the parasite from faesces of infected person to food and food products, therby, contaminating them.
Drinking water and food contaminated by the faecal matter are the main source of infection.
