Answer
Adolescence is a time state between the childhood and adulthood. During this period a person go through from several biological and behavioural changes. So it is very vulnerable phase of mental and psychological development of an individual. Of late, stress from pressure to excel in academics or examination, has played a signigicant role in persuading the youngsters to try alcohol and drugs.

Effects of drug/alcohol abuse:
