Ashirwad Scholarship provided by the Government of Punjab. The Ashirwad scholarship provides financial support to pupils belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC category who are domicile of Punjab state. Different Post-matric scholarships are given to economically backward pupils. To continue their UG/ PG level education without any financial limitations.
It is generally seen in the states that students get dropped out of their studies and do not step into the world of higher education. Mainly due to the absence of funds in their respective homes. The given initiative was started to promote the further education of the students.
Another distinctive characteristic of this scholarship is providing girls ample financial aid since 40% of the scholarships are reserved for women alone. Through this venture, the state government is also putting more importance on girl’s education in today’s society.

Ashirwad Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The main basis for eligibility is that the pupil should have a domicile of Punjab state. Other eligibility criteria are listed below:
- The applicant must be of Indian National belonging to OBC / SC / ST category.
- The applicants must have passed Class 10th from any Private / Government recognized college or Board of Secondary Education in Punjab.
- While applying for the scholarship, candidate’s age should not be less than 17 years.
- The family income of the ST / SC candidate should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources on yearly basis.
- The family income of the OBC candidate should not exceed INR 1,00,000 from all sources on yearly basis.
- Candidates pursuing correspondence distance / course learning are also acceptable to apply for the scholarship.
- Applicants pursuing post-graduation in Medicine are also eligible to apply for the scholarship granted they are not training throughout the course.
- The scholars applying for this scheme should not obtain scholarships from any other source.

Ashirwad Scholarship Application Process
The application process for the scholarship is online. In the scholarship portal, the Ashirwad application form is available. Thus interested applicants could apply within a specific time. The detailed procedure for online application is given below:
- Interested candidates should visit the Punjab Scholarships official website.
- He/she then must click on the – “Post-matric Scholarship Portal” under the “Students Corner” section.
- If you are a new user, then the applicant must click on the- Student Registration tab to register on the scholarship portal. A User ID and password are created on successful registration.
- The applicant then login to the portal by using the registered User ID and password.
- The aspirant can get the Ashirwad Scholarship online application form and that must be filled with all the necessary details.
- The student should then recheck all the entered details completely to avoid the application being rejected by the State Education Board.
- The applicant must upload all the important documents and “Submit” the application form.
- Lastly, the aspirant must take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.

Ashirwad Scholarship Renewal Process
Applicants that got the Ashirwad scholarship earlier in the academic session. Then those aspirants would just need to renew the Application. There is no need to register again for a fresh Account. On the official website of the Ashirwad portal, the Renewal option is available. Applicants need to login and fill the necessary details and then submit the form. A presence list of at least 75% is mandatory for applicants to be eligible for renewal of the scholarship.
- Renewal candidates should visit the Punjab Scholarship Portal.
- The applicants should log in to the portal using the existing User ID and password.
- The student wants to make any changes/modifications in the specifications listed if required.
- Lastly, the applicant should check for correctness of details entered and ‘Submit’ the application.
- A print of the submitted application must be taken for future reference.
