Quizzes form an essential and inclusive part of education in both schools and colleges. The faculty often surprises the students with a quiz on a chapter just taught or decides on a quiz as against long drawn assignment. These quizzes can help you score full marks and improve your grades if you pay a little attention and make a dedicated approach. Here are some tips that should be of help.
Regular studies
As soon as a chapter is taught, make it a point to go through it. It does not always mean a long drawn study, but glance through it, make notes, and highlight important data. A lesson even if read once registers itself, which should help you get a decent score. Quizzes are typically one word answers or short answer questions, which do not require in depth knowledge or study. Thus a basic grasp of the lessons should suffice. But be careful so as to not rely on this study for the final exams.
Allot time
The first thing to do when you get the paper is to allocate time for each section or question roughly. This ay you will not miss out on questions and will complete it on time. This will determine your pace of answering.
Read through
Go through all the questions. And start answering. Attempt the ones you know immediately. Avoid spending too much time on the ones you are not sure of or are long questions. You can always come back to these questions once done with the easier and known ones. Thus efficient allocation of time and time management is crucial in quizzes.
Underline
You can also underline or mark questions or parts of questions that you want to concentrate on, work on, return to, or revise. This will help catch your eye and not miss out on them.
Revise
As quizzes follow a short answer type format, it is a good idea to spare time for a revision in the end. And it does not take too much time as you do not have long paras to read. Just heck if you have attempted all questions, marked the right answer or written the correct answer, and check for spellings etc.
