PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) 2021: Students to get a scholarship of INR 2000-3000, know more here

Under the Prime Minister Scholarship, the students can apply for this scheme in September and October. The last date for this year’s application process was on 15 October. The scholarship will be offered to the selected students by the end of December this year. 

Getting an education is the fundamental right of every Indian citizen. Central Government and the state government have launched many scholarship schemes to encourage poor students to continue their education. 

One of such schemes is the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS), in which a scholarship on monthly basis is offered to the widows and children of the martyred ex-servicemen/Coast Guard/Police personnel and railway Personnel. 

The PM scholarship scheme also covers the children of disabled ex-servicemen of Police, RPF, Assam Rifles, RPSF. The scholarship amount ranges from INR 2000-3000. The scholarship is offered to only those students who gain 60% marks in class 12th. Students studying outside India are not eligible for the PM scholarship scheme.

When to apply for the scholarship

Government releases the scholarship application each year in September and October. The application process for this year’s scholarship program has been closed on 15 October. Those who get selected under this scheme will get the benefit of the scheme by the end of December 31 this year. 

Who is eligible?

Those students who are pursuing the course certified by the All India Council for technical education, University grants commission, medical council of India, National Council for teacher education are eligible to apply under this scheme. For example-MBBS,BE,B.Tech, BBA, BCA, MCA, etc. 

Scholarship Period

The PM scholarship scheme is offered to the students for 5 years. However, if the courses have a more than 5 years degree program then the students are offered the scholarship for that additional course period. Selection Process 

If the applications exceed the number, then the services are offered based on the grade of the Martyred personnel on duty or during War.
