Career
She started her career as a lecturer in Khalsa College for Women in the year of 1970. Two years hence, she found herself joining the Indian police forces. Ever since that there has been milestones created in her journey. She had been the traffic Commissioner in Delhi, Deputy Inspector General of Police in the hostile are of Mizoram. One challenge after another, she has been a motivation for a budding aspirant.
Crane Bedi
She had never compromised on her duties at any cost. She is jokingly called the Crane Bedi. She received this nickname after she had dragged the car of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the reason being traffic rule violation.
Social Worker
A social worker by nature, she has done many activities to eradicate the use of narcotics among individuals. She even conducted sessions for the prisoners at Tihar Jail. Recreation has been therapeutic: she incorporated this to the prison area.
Social reformation has been the top priority for her. She laid the foundation of many organizations. Navajypti was founded in 1988. Following the tow, in 1994 India Vision Foundation was established. These foundations were created in order to help a certain group of people. She targeted to aim to help the drug addicted victims and the souls that were socially underprivileged. Child welfare and anti child abuse campaign has been another feather to her hat.
A famous personality, her attitude and outlook is very amicable and down to earth. Highly driven by principles, she has received several recognitions for her contribution to society.
What sets her apart from the flock is her vision towards enforcement of the legal issues and law foundation. It has never been just the urban areas only; she had flown to the remotest areas of the villages and rendered services.
