A Student Resume is slightly different from a professional one. It is usually for student employment or first job post studies. Though not extensive and quite simple, it should have a mature and professional look to it.
Career Objective
State your goal in life in a clear, short and precise manner. This will generate interest in your portfolio and you will get calls accordingly. For a college pass out it is essential as employers seek candidates who have an objective and not groping for whatever comes their way.
Know the Market
Whichever industry you want to work for, has its specific demands from a candidate. Study these and put down your skills, training and learning in those, and achievements related to it. Ask experienced people what is it that is required in the respective field and then fill up your qualifications and talents. Addressing such requirements becomes necessary when applying for your first job.
Don’t Underestimate
Students get concerned that they do not possess enough experience and qualifications. They try comparing themselves to already working executives. You should remember that you are a fresher, and so the door of employment is yet to open for you. You will gain experience once you step in. Study and analyze your qualifications, aptitude and skills, and achievements. You will be able to appreciate yourself and jot down your unique attributes. If however, you find a gap, try to fill it up before you apply.
