The Hotel Management colleges in India are competing with one another, a tight struggle, to train and sculpt the best professionals in this field. 

Oberoi Center of Learning and Development (OCLD) , Delhi :

This institute, governed by the Oberoi Group, offers to school pass outs (10+2) the Systematic Training and Education Program (STEP) in hotel management; it is a three year course. At the post graduation level, only for graduates, the courses offered are post graduate diploma in Guest Service Management, Housekeeping Management and Kitchen Management, this being a two year program. Students who study at OCLD usually are absorbed within the organization, that has the finest hotels and resorts in India. 

Welcome-group Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA), Manipal :

It offers a four year Bachelor in Hotel Management course, and a two year Master’s program in International Hospitality and Tourism Management. Also diploma courses.  

Christ College, Bengaluru :

The Christ University’s Department of Hotel Management, set up in 1991, offers a fur year Bachelor’s degree in hotel management (BHM). Admission is on marks basis, obtained in Class XII.  

Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) :

Affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), the IHM has numerous branches spread over the country, in Mumbai, Delhi, Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Gangtok, Goa, Gurdaspur, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Vaishali, Shillong, Simla, Srinagar and Trivandrum. It offers B. Sc. in Hospitality and Administration, and also Master’s in the same. Along with these, there are also a number of diploma programs offered in various fields, like cooking,bar-tending, accommodation operations etc. 

Amity School of Hospitality, Noida :

Amity offers Bachelor’s course in Hotel Management (BHM) and at the PG level (only for graduates), it offers an MBA program in Hospitality Management. Application forms should be procured and submitted along with mark sheets, certificates and testimonials at the campus. 

Banarasidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, New Delhi :

This institute, established in 1999, is run by the Banarsidas Chandiwala Sewa Smarak Trust Society, and is approved by AICTE. Affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, it offers a 4 year bachelor’s program in Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Application is open for students who have passed Class XII with a minimum of 50%, having English as a compulsory subject and a pass in it individually. Admission is based on the common entrance test conducted by the university. 

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Chandigarh :

  1. Sc in Hospitality Management and Hotel Administration, is open for students who have passed 12th exam. 

Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Mumbai :

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Studies of the Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil University, offers three years Bachelor’s program in Hospitality & Tourism Studies. The students who have passed Class XII, in any stream – science, humanities, commerce, home science, or any vocational course, are eligible to apply.  

Rizwi College of Hotel Management, Mumbai

The institute is recognized under AICTE, and is affiliated to the Mumbai University. It offers are a 3 year B. Sc in Hospitality Studies, degree awarded by Mumbai University. Applicants should have at least 50% in XII, and admission is made on a written test, followed by extempore and interview. The college considers academic record as well as ECA for admission to all courses. The other course offered is Bachelor’s of Hotel Management and Catering Operations, granted by the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University; admission is based on entrance test, group discussion or extempore and then the interview of selected candidates. And it offers B.A in International Hospitality Administration, the degree awarded by IGNOU. For this also the criteria for admission is pass in class XII, and performance in the written test, GD or extempore, and interview.
