CBSE issues show cause notice to 29 schools over enrollment irregularities

A total of 29 schools have received show-cause notices from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Due to irregularities in enrollment and basic facilities identified during the surprise inspection, this notification has been issued.

What is Enrollment irregularities

Enrollment irregularities represent the enrollment of students without their academic session and against the legal principles.

Reasons for issuing notice

• Surprise inspection: CBSE conducted surprise inspections in various 29 schools across the country on 18 and 19 December 2024.
• Irregularities in enrollment: Many schools enrolled the names of unapproved students, which was done against the legal principles.
• Lack of basic facilities: It was found in the inspection that many schools did not show up academically.
• Show cause notice: CBSE has asked the schools to give an explanation within 30 days. If any provision is found, CBSE action can be taken soon.
