The final list of 18,174 vacancies for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) SSC CGL 2024 has been made available by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). This year 18174 posts will be recruited under SSC CGL . Some of these major departments and posts are as follows:
Income Tax Inspector (2,500 posts):
- Works under the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
- Pay Scale: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 (as per 7th Pay Commission).
CBI Sub-Inspector (1,200 posts):
- Roles related to investigation and security.
Railways Accountant (3,000 posts):
- Contributes to railway budget and financial management.
Auditor (2,800 posts):
- Audit in central and state government departments.

Important Update for Tier-2 Candidates: Option-cum-Preference Form
Candidates who have cleared the Tier-2 exam will now have to choose the preference of posts. Following is the process to fill this form:
How to Fill the Form?
- Step 1: Visit the SSC website and select CGL 2024 in the “Latest Notifications” section.
- Step 2: Click on the “Apply Online” button and login with your login ID.
- Step 3: Keep these things in mind while choosing the preference of posts:
- Choose the post as per your qualification and interest.
- Fill the city/state preference carefully.
- Step 4: Download the acknowledgement slip after submitting the form.
Note:
No modifications can be made once the form is submitted.
The final allotment of posts will be as per the preference exam score and vacancy.
What changes were made in the final vacancy list?
SSC had earlier announced 17,000 vacancies but now it has been increased to 18,174. The new vacancies include:
Ministry of Defence: 500 additional posts (Data Entry Operator).
Central Health Services: 200 posts (Assistant Medical Officer).
